BNSMS is here, and it’s ready for you to use. But what is it?
TLDR
BNSMS is BootyNets’ secure SMS (Short Message Service) protocol.
What makes it more secure than SMS?
SMS is not encrypted. Your message is sent from tower to tower in plain text, which means anyone can intercept and read it. One common example is an SS7 (Signalling System No. 7) exploit. SS7 is still widely used by carriers and has several different vulnerabilities, which can range from intercepting messages on SMS to tracking movements of your phone.
BootyNet uses BS1, the first generation of BootyNet Signalling. We use all of our security knowledge from BootyPay and BootyNet Zero Trust to avoid vulnerabilities just like the ones from SS7. This means none of the BootyNetwork can be simply intercepted by a bad actor. BNSMS adds another layer. From your phone and from tower to tower, your message is encrypted and safe from prying eyes.
Features
- No setup required – BNSMS works the same as regular SMS. No need to install any app.
- End-to-end on every hop – From your phone to the tower, then to the recipient, your message is fully encrypted.
- No legacy technology – From start to finish, all of BootyNet’s technology is built in-house, which means there’s nothing borrowed, nothing outdated, and no vulnerabilities we didn’t create ourselves.
- Looks like SMS, isn’t SMS – Same texting experience you already know, secured underneath
